Why we exist. We got tired of watching people wait.
Most people who come to us have been tired for years. They’ve tried early nights, no screens and magnesium, and they’ve been told it’s stress. Somewhere along the way, nobody looked properly.
So that’s the whole idea. A proper look at your sleep, built to find the cause, not to sell the cure. Even when you don’t need us, we’ll tell you who can help. We’d rather send you to the right place than keep you here for the wrong reasons.
What we do. Know what’s wrong. Know what’s next.
A free online sleep assessment
You answer a short set of questions about your sleep. We screen for four conditions at once: insomnia, obstructive sleep apnoea, snoring and restless legs syndrome. Find out what your symptoms point to as soon as you finish.
A clear next step
Every result comes with a specific next step. That might be a home sleep test, a blood test, a conversation with your GP, or treatment like CBT-I, Quviviq or melatonin. If the NHS is the better route for you, we say so and tell you what to ask for.
Treatment through a registered pharmacy
If treatment may be appropriate, you’ll complete a full consultation with The Independent Pharmacy. A UK registered clinician reviews your medical history and consultation before anything is prescribed.
Clinically reviewed sleep guides
We publish helpful guides to sleep conditions, tests and treatments in plain English. Each one names who wrote it and who checked it, and is reviewed again at least every twelve months.
How we’re different. A few promises, kept every time.
Sleep clinics can be strange places: lots of wires, not much conversation. We try to be the opposite.
We will
- Check for four conditions at once, because everything looks the same at 3am.
- Give you a result straight away, with no referral and no waiting list.
- Say so if the NHS is the better route for you, and point you there.
We won’t
- Prescribe anything by default.
- Pretend a two-minute screening is a diagnosis.
- Leave your email unanswered for more than one working day.
Does this sound like you?. Who Portsmouth Sleep Clinic is for

How Portsmouth Sleep Clinic works. No sleep lab. No wires. All from home.
We’re proud to serve patients in Portsmouth, but you don’t need to come to us. The assessment is online and takes two minutes. If a home sleep test would help, we’ll point you to the right place to get one, and if treatment is an option, a clinician at our partner pharmacy, The Independent Pharmacy, reviews your consultation before anything is prescribed. It’s the same whether you’re lying awake in a terrace in Drayton or a new flat in Gunwharf Quays.
If you’d rather talk to a person first, our email and address are on the contact page.

Questions about Portsmouth Sleep Clinic. What people ask before they start.
No. Portsmouth Sleep Clinic is an independent online service, and the assessment is free. If your result suggests the NHS is the better route for you, we say so and tell you what to ask your GP for.
No. You can take the assessment yourself, online, whenever suits you. It takes about two minutes and you see your result as soon as you finish.
No. It’s a screening tool: it tells you what your symptoms point to and what to do next. Sleep apnoea can only be confirmed with a sleep study, and any prescription needs a full consultation reviewed by a clinician.
Our partner pharmacy, The Independent Pharmacy, a UK pharmacy registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Their clinicians review your consultation and medical history, make any prescribing decision, and dispense and deliver your medicine. Your contract for treatment is with them.
The assessment is free. If a test or treatment is recommended, you see the price before you pay anything, and treatment is only prescribed when a clinician judges it appropriate.
You don’t need to: everything happens online. If you’d rather talk to a person first, email us and we’ll arrange a time to meet at our Portsmouth office.

Ready when you are.
